Canada is taking steps to make it simpler for families to come together and take care of themselves once they are in the country. The government has introduced new measures, including faster processing times, allowing open work permits, and making decisions in a more considerate manner. These changes aim to make the process easier and more supportive for families.

The Canadian Government has announced new rules to make it easier for immigrants to come to Canada, work, and reunite with their families. Here’s what you need to know :
Faster Processing for Spouses :
Spousal applicants will now have their temporary resident visa (TRV) processed faster, with applications reviewed within 30 days.
New Processing Tools :
Spousal TRV applicants can access specialized tools to make the application process smoother and quicker.
New Work Permit Options :
Spouses and family class applicants can now apply for a work permit, allowing them to work in Canada while waiting for their visa.
Extensions for Open Work Permits :
If your open work permit expires between August 1 and December 31, 2023, you can apply for an extension of up to 18 months.
This also applies to recent graduates whose post-graduation work permits are about to expire.
High Approval Rates :
Many applications under these new rules have already been processed, with a current approval rate of 93%.
These new measures aim to reunite families faster and help immigrants contribute to the Canadian workforce more efficiently.
