Applicants for Canadian immigration can now choose from three officially recognized English tests :
CELPIP
PTE (Pearson Test of English) – newly added
The Pearson Test of English (PTE) was recently approved by IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) as an accepted English-language test.
Starting from late 2023 (exact date to be confirmed), applicants can submit PTE scores to meet the language proficiency requirement.
Important Notes
No test is given preference – IELTS, CELPIP, and PTE are all considered equally valid by IRCC.
Test results must be less than 24 months old (2 years) when submitted.
